Conservation
The Wagenknecht Society for Marine Conservation Inc. is an independent research body focused on hermit crab ethology and coastal systems.
Its work centers on observation, environment design, and the ethical study of species often overlooked in traditional research frameworks.
It began in 2022—with the rescue of a hermit crab. That moment raised a larger question: what happens when systems are not built to understand the species within them?
Today, the work extends beyond care into research—documenting behavior, environmental response, and long-term patterns through an open, accessible model of science.
Some species are not rare.
They are simply not studied seriously.
