“Historic 1943 BSA W-M20: This motorcycle C5208579 was built in the Spring of 1943, part of the U.K. Contract War Dept., S2603. It was badged to the British 3rd Infantry that went ashore on D-Day on Sword Beach, Normandy. #79 indicates military police, Provost Company, attached to the 3rd Division. It went all the way up through France, Belgium, and Holland, [sic] accross the Rhine River and into Germany by early 1945.
